Former AWS VP of Security and Coalfire executive to drive product innovation and scale RegScale’s continuous controls monitoring platform
RegScale, the leader in Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM), today announced the appointment of Chad Woolf as Chief Product Officer. Woolf brings more than two decades of experience in information security governance, compliance, and technology leadership, including 14 years as Vice President of Security at Amazon Web Services, where he built AWS’s compliance programs from the ground up.
“Chad brings unmatched expertise in building and scaling global compliance programs,” said Travis Howerton, Co-Founder and CEO of RegScale. “From launching legacy GRC programs at EY, to building AWS’s compliance functions from the ground up, to advising the world’s largest tech companies at Coalfire, Chad has been at the forefront of every major wave in compliance modernization. His leadership will be instrumental in guiding RegScale’s next phase of growth and ensuring our customers can transform compliance into a true business accelerator.”
Woolf joins RegScale with a clear vision for what’s next. “I’ve seen firsthand how complex global compliance programs that are properly scaled can work hand-in-hand with engineering teams to catapult the business into new markets,” Woolf said. “RegScale is enabling customers to manage large, complex compliance programs by using new automation tooling and applying AI in a way that accelerates the business. We’re empowering CISOs to run compliance as code, and by doing so helping them make a huge leap in security operation observability as well as minimizing costs, eliminating inefficiencies, and generating real-time risk insights. This is the future of how security assurance should work.”
Before RegScale, Woolf spent over a decade at EY helping tech companies build and operate security programs. At AWS, he established the company’s global compliance functions, enabling adoption across regulated industries and frameworks including FedRAMP, HIPAA, GDPR, and DORA. Most recently, Woolf served as Chief Strategy Officer at Coalfire Systems, advising leading technology and banking clients on cybersecurity and compliance strategy.
At RegScale, Woolf will lead product strategy, focusing on modernizing compliance for enterprises, automating evidence collection, reducing operational burden, and helping CISOs operationalize risk. He will guide RegScale in scaling its platform and product offerings, enabling business leaders and engineering teams to operate efficiently and confidently while meeting complex regulatory demands.
“We couldn’t be more pleased—for the company and for Chad,” said Alex Tosheff industry, veteran and advisor to RegScale. “It’s a perfect fit. RegScale is bringing much-needed innovation to the compliance industry, and now we gain the benefit of a global leader in Chad. His experience building scaled compliance systems at Amazon positions us to deliver unmatched value to our customers.”
RegScale recently completed an oversubscribed Series B funding round and achieved FedRAMP High Authorization, sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). With Woolf at the helm of product strategy, RegScale is poised to accelerate its mission: helping CISOs to operationalize risk, modernize GRC and empower organizations to innovate faster while meeting the highest regulatory standards.
